In April, Mom, Kristin, Mallory, Libby and I took a road trip (a very long 2 day road trip) to Texas to visit Sheena and her family. We and a ton of our stuff crammed into Kristin's mini-van for the trek. Everyone I told about our upcoming trip expressed their concern about travelling so far with two 5 year olds, but the girls were perfect travelling companions. They kept themselves busy watching movies, playing with paper dolls Grandma had brought for them, coloring and the later in the evening it got just giggling and cracking each other up!
We were very happy to get to Sheena and Eric's home and see everyone, especially baby Blake whom we (except for Mom who was there when Blake was born) were meeting for the first time. And what a cutie he is!
Maryn, Libby and Mallory had a lot of fun playing together and we all had a great time spending time with each other. We visited the Dallas Arboretum, took the train into downtown Dallas, did some shopping and we painted Maryn's room. Check out Sheena's blog to see how cute the room turned out. I'll just let the pictures tell the rest of the story of our trip.
This carousel was in the mall and the girls had so much fun riding on it.

Blake had fun watching the carousel.
Reading bedtime stories was a favorite time for Grandma and the girls.

Me and my sisters!
Mallory wanted me to take a picture of her smelling the flowers. I've never met anyone who likes to smell the flowers as much as Mallory and Libby do.
We wanted to go to the top of the Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas but it has recently been closed to the public...grrr. So we rode the glass elevator in a nearby hotel up and down several times so we could see the view of the city.
Visiting the "grassy knoll" where JFK was shot.
Waiting for the train to take us home after a fun day downtown.
Libby and Maryn just hanging out...I think they're watching cartoons.

How fun! I bet it was so great to see sheena. The girls are all so cute. You have to be the proudest Aunt in the world.
Hi! It looks like you have had some fun. Texas - that is a long way to drive. Hope the rest of your summer is just as great!
